Alto-Shaam raised a record $174,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2024, surpassing $1 million in total donations over a 16-year partnership.
Alto-Shaam has raised a record donation of $174,000 in 2024 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in memory of its Founder Jerry Maahs, taking its overall total raised to more than $1 million over a 16-year partnership.
“I am proud that we continue to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of my father, and the many others impacted by blood cancer,” said Steve Maahs, CEO of Alto-Shaam.
Of the total raised, $96,250 has been donated to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma research in memory of Alto-Shaam’s Founder Jerry Maahs. Additionally, $52,750 was donated to LLS’ Dare to Dream project which looks to transform treatment and care for children with blood cancer, and $25,000 to fund an additional scholarship for student blood cancer survivors. Alto-Shaam currently sponsors two individuals for this 3-year scholarship.
“We are so grateful to the Alto-Shaam team and everything they continue to do for the charity. We were completely wowed by the total donation, and our entire team and trustees continue to be in awe of Alto-Shaam's support year on year.” Shannon Blake, Philanthropy Director – Central territory at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
This year, Alto-Shaam raised this record donation thanks to overwhelming support at its annual memorial golf event, Golf for A Cure, which welcomed more than 200 golfers including Alto-Shaam employees, partners and sponsors. Additionally, Alto-Shaam employees came together to host its annual Employee Raffle fundraiser, which contributed to the total amount. Alto-Shaam donated a dollar-for-dollar match.
